Biodanza originated in South America in the 60's after musical experimentation with mental patients in Santiago de Chile yielded intriguing results. It is now a worldwide phenomenon galvanising people's life force energy through dance, movement, play, expression, interaction, intimacy and integration of the biological and physiological systems that we find so often out of balance in our modern way of living. Biodanza induces a distinct and measureable feel-good factor in all who try it.
Niraj Skilbeck has been deeply involved in Biodanza for 22 years now, and has been Director of the Dorset School teacher training, the UK's preeminent establishment, since
2008.
He has also been responsible for the creation of the International Biodanza Festival, now in it's 14th year, attracting well in excess of 100 participants.
Niraj has attended well over 50 festivals of the "New Age" variety, as logistics manager, comedy MC, space holder and workshop leader, and is therefore vastly experienced at introducing his work
to new and receptive audiences.
Created by Gabrielle Roth and practiced by tens of thousands worldwide, 5Rhythms® is a philosophy, perspective, performance art and a dynamic movement practice
rooted in the principle that if you put the psyche in motion it will heal itself.
This Waves Mini-Workshop is the foundation of the entire body of 5Rhythms® work in which we expand our class work with
a deepened physical expression and knowledge of the essential 5 rhythms and their polarities.
Stuart Phillips is an accredited 5Rhythms® teacher. He first danced the 5Rhythms® in 2007 and has been teaching since 2018. His teachings are practical and are rooted in inviting
awareness to the physical body that we each inhabit. His work has been described as bringing clarity and simplicity to the practice of embodied movement. "I am discovering for myself that
the 5Rhythms® is the practice of awakening the body that enables us human beings to unravel for ourselves who we truly are.
Back to Basics - 5Rhythms with Stuart Phillips
A fun hour diving into rhythm: With over 20 years passion & experience as a professional percussionist & facilitator, Jamie has observed the global capacity of rhythm to connect, heal & inspire. No prior musical knowledge is required. The workshop will begin with the introduction of a simple beat, or pulse, which everyone can play together. Different patterns & flavors will be layered on top to create exciting music inclusive of all levels. Percussion & hand drums will provide a gateway into musical cultures from around the world & the art of music, which belongs to everyone.
Jamie Morgan is a percussionist and international rhythm facilitator. His career spans over 20 years running rhythm events at parties, conferences and workshops. He also holds regular classes. He has trained and played with some of the foremost musicians and innovators across the globe: Arthur Hull (Father of the Drum Circle Movement), Mamady Keita (Grandfather of the Djembe), Gabrielle Roth (Originator of the 5 Rhythms).
Over the years he has witnessed that taking part in rhythm has the potency to transform, empower & liberate: “Everywhere I have travelled and worked I have seen that rhythm connects, heals
and inspires. It opens unique and powerful avenues for communication and experience.”
One of the founding principles of his passion for leading groups is that by sharing time and space in rhythm, we take part in something profound yet simple, that’s existed globally for millennia,
but with our own totally unique stamp on it.
Together with Virginia Thorn they run The Sussex Drum.
A unique, transformative process that creates mental, physical and emotional balance. The result of years of research and studies in different disciplines, including the science of vibration, laughter yoga and nada yoga, sound and music, psychology, psychoanalysis, applied movement neurology, Chinese and Vedic medicine, metaphysics and mysticism, Mastering Harmony is an experiential journey that incorporates laughter, sound, movement, voice work, breathwork and dance. The combination of these elements helps to restore us to our natural state of harmony - something we all long for deep inside.
Sabio Janiak is a composer, multi-instrumentalist, cellular resonance therapist, laughter yoga and breath work practitioner. His work with world-famous artists and his ability to play over 100 different instruments has contributed to his unique musical sensibility and understanding of sound and vibration. In 2012 Sabio become a certified Cellular Resonance Therapist. During the course of these studies, he became familiar with Chinese Medicine, tuning forks and vibrational acupuncture therapy. These practices, coupled with deep research of the science of sound and vibration, led him to study other different healing modalities including, theta healing, bio-acoustics, applied movement neurology, laughter yoga, Qi Gong to name a few. In 2014 Sabio distilled his knowledge into practice into the creation of Mastering Harmony, through which he helps others to restore our original blueprint of wellness, balance, peace and harmony to our everyday lives.
Gaga classes are predicated on a deep listening to the body and to physical sensations. The instructions are deployed to increase awareness of and further amplify sensation, and rather than turning from one prompt to another, information is layered, building into a multisensory, physically challenging experience. While many instructions are imbued with rich imagery, the research of Gaga is fundamentally physical, insisting on a specific process of embodiment. Inside this shared research, the improvisational nature of the exploration enables each participant’s deeply personal connection with Gaga.
Gaga provides a framework for discovering and strengthening the body and adding flexibility, stamina, agility, and skills including coordination and efficiency while stimulating the senses and
imagination. The classes offer a workout that investigates form, speed, and effort while traversing additional spectrums such as those between soft and thick textures, delicacy and explosive
power, and understatement and exaggeration. Participants awaken numb areas, increase their awareness of habits, and improve their efficiency of movement inside multilayered tasks, and they
are encouraged to connect to pleasure inside moments of effort. The language of Gaga is in a continual process of evolution, and the classes vary and develop accordingly.

Ecstatic Dance is free-form dance practice inviting people to connect to themselves and to others through music and movement. It takes place over a 2-hour DJ set, during which you'll be guided through a musical journey, inviting you to move however you wish, the only guidelines being: no talking, no intoxicants and no phones. There are no steps or choreography, simply an invitation to step out of your comfort zone and let go. We'll start with a short facilitated warmup before leaving you do your own thing to the rhythms of global bass and world electronica.
Renée Lacroix (Founder of Ecstatic Dance UK, Canadian-born) has quickly built herself a name amongst the conscious dance scene in London and internationally, first as event producer then as DJ. Like many, she started DJing in her bedroom after a handful of YouTube tutorials. She recently completed the Ecstatic DJ Training and now has gigs in London, Paris, Lisbon and Bristol. As an avid traveller and a classically trained pianist, her sets will make you travel around the globe with a sophisticated tapestry of world electronica and neoclassical.

Movement Medicine is an immersive dance meditation, held with captivating music and clear guidance. Ya’Acov and Susannah Darling Khan created an intricate map with practices that weave both ancient wisdom and modern thinking, drawing from their experience of Shamanism, 5Rhythms, Gestalt Psychotherapy and Constellation work. In a polarised culture where so much of our wounding comes from disconnection, Movement Medicine offers the opportunity for reconnection. It connects us to our elemental nature, to our bodies, hearts and minds, to each other and to the sacredness of life. Our movement becomes the medicine that opens the door to inspiration and new possibilities. This then begins to inform our daily lives and deepens our capacity for compassionate living.
Mira Khanya is a Movement Medicine teacher who intuitively weaves from the rich tapestry of her experience as artist, therapist and dancer. She creates a safe space for you to
drop into the wisdom of your moving body, awakening to the truth of who you are and what really matters. For her the freedom and creativity of the dance is a way into healing on a personal,
relational and community level. A space where collectively we can experience the transformative power of the dance, gather resources and dedicate the energy we generate out into the world for the
benefit of all. Mira teaches Movement Medicine classes, workshops and women’s circles in the UK and abroad. Her deep love of ritual is rooted in the way she facilitates her classes and she also
offers regular Movement Medicine Ceremonies.

Whirling is a sufi ancient technique, where you whirl on the spot with your arms opened. This method goes very deep, taking the whirler out of the mind and into his/her center, into the
very core of their beings. While your whole body is moving suddenly you become aware of a space inside of you that is unmoved, this is YOU. 'To know this unmoving center is to know the very
master key of all the mysteries of life.' (Osho)
Accompanied by talented musicians playing traditional sufi music, Dhyana will share a space for you to learn and experience this ancient centering technique that helps the mind to relax, moving you into a soft silent meditative space.
Many years back, Dhyana Vargas (Colombia, based in Berlin) felt the urgency to discover herself and gain more understanding about life; a search that brought her in touch with the OSHO Active Meditations; amazed by the awareness and clarity she got through these techniques and with the desire of sharing her experience, she became a certified meditation facilitator in Berlin as well as in Pune, India. Her fascination for Sufi Whirling took her to practice this techinique with the sufi master Oruç Güvenc in Turkey.
Currently she shares OSHO Meditations and OSHO therapies, teaches Sufi Whirling and offers Aquafloating sessions around the world. She is the creator of the Whirling in Berlin as well as OSHO Meditation Colombia and co-creator of the Conscious Dance Festivals.
