Biodanza: The Pedagogy of Love
Biodanza is a system of affective re-education, and re-learning of life’s original functions.
It offers “vivencias”, or experiences, in: vitality, sexuality, creativity, affectivity and transcendence through music, singing, movement and group encounter situations.
Dilma is the first Portuguese 5rhythms® teacher, trained with the founder Gabrielle Roth in 2004. She has taught in Portugal, England and Australia.
She is a passionate, creative and intuitive facilitator, interested in the depths of the practice as a way to bring awareness and empowerment.
5 Rhythms® dance is a movement practice developed by Gabrielle Roth, a New York urban shaman, accessible to everyone. The 5 Rhythms® are: Flowing, Staccato, Chaos, Lyrical and Stillness. Each rhythm is a gateway to aspects of ourselves, a state of being, a pattern. They relate to different elements, life cycles, emotions, etc…and are expressed on the dance floor through different ways of moving.
Luísa Paula Pereira, has been a Trance Dance Facilitator since 2006. From 2012 to 2018, she apprenticed and assisted Wilbert Alix, founder of Trance Dance International, in his Trance Dance Facilitators Training & Trance Dance International workshops. You will have the opportunity to experience a contemporary ritual with ancient roots. An inner journey, with an individual intention, where you dance blindfolded to percussive and dynamic rhythms.
*Dance into the Infinity inside of you*
*Explore the rhythm of your soul*
We have a body which is interconnected with all Life and all of life’s processes (birth, life, death, transformation, regeneration).
Nature is pure consciousness, it is soul expressed into form, ever sustaining each of us.
Dance and song are living, active prayers – dynamic meditations that honour the core of silent freedom and take you beyond roles, into the essence of Being.
Through the practice of sensitive listening, mindfulness, authentic presence and conscious relating we will explore body language, voice and sound.
Each workshop is a unique and unrepeatable experience, with live music created in real time.
We are inspired by the nomadic routes of the Sahara and North African ancient tribes, crossing through southwestern Europe unto the British isles.
We are heirs of a legacy of dance, music and ritual and we are invited to weave through it with our individuality.
Through dance we merge in a non-verbal space of memory, that enables us to repair the unseen yet present forces within the body and the psyche.
Through this practise we stimulate self-regulation of the nervous system, strengthen the body-mind well being and create resilience, health and spiritual awareness.
Cristina graduated in somatic techniques, Contact-Improvisation and contemporary dance in the Netherlands and physical theatre in Brazil. She has performed internationally. She works in-between awareness, Contact-Improvisation, presence and vocal movement integration methods. She believes that research is the key for creating while living the moment, developing awareness and facilitating new educational methods.
In this workshop she will guide us into Inner Ecology and Contact-Improvisation as presence and awareness, introducing notions of rolling, falling, sliding, resisting, giving weight and letting go. There will be the opportunity to relate to others in physical contact while touching, sensing, feeling and dancing.
born in Germany, based in South Portugal, is an international facilitator of the Río Abierto System, and professional Shiatsu practitioner. She became acquainted with in with Río Abierto in
Uruguay, where she trained with Graciela Figueroa. In 2019 she moved back to Portugal (Algarve), after almost 20 years abroad. She currently gives Rio Abierto workshops and classes in Portugal,
Italy and Germany.
The Río Abierto System was created in the 1960’s in Buenos Aires, Argentina and since then it’s developing continuously and in a dynamic way. It offers a spiritual/body-mind approach for personal development, transformation and self-knowledge. We work with free and guided movement, breath, contact and touch, expression and dramatization, massage & silence. Through different techniques we can “unfreeze“ blockades and promote our vitality and consciousness in order to take care of the body, listen to the heart and express the being.

She is a DJ at conscious dance events around the capital (Morning Gloryville, Divine Spark, Dance Meditation). Ecstatic Dance is a non- verbal journey through total freedom of movement and a space for people to meet their true selves.
Whirling is a sufi ancient technique, where you whirl on the spot with your arms opened. This method goes very deep, taking the whirler out of the mind and into his/her center, into his/her
being. While your whole body is moving suddenly you become aware of a space inside of you that is unmoved, this is YOU. 'To know this unmoving center is to know the very master key of all the
mysteries of life.' (Osho)
Accompanied by Baltazar playing traditional sufi music, Dhyana will share a space for you to learn and experience this ancient centering technique that helps the mind to relax, moving you into a soft silent meditative space.
This is a festival for everyone. No previous dance experience is required. All bodies and levels are welcome.
